Athletic Performance Education

This program allows us to bring to our community clinics and classes that educate about nutrition, sports performance training, injury prevention/rehabilitation - subjects that are not always covered in high school curricula or athletic team training.  Clinics and classes are led by local experts who come to the Centaurus High School campus to share their wisdom, knowledge, and advice.

Physics of Sports by Devin Rourke
Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, 3:30 - 5:30pm Centaurus High School Student Center
High School extracurricular activities, especially sports, provide an untapped opportunity for students to discover how Physics is relevant in their everyday lives.  During this short course, we will be exploring all the ways in which physics applies to our lives as athletes.  Knowledge of physics, we'll discover, isn't just committing equations to memory- it is the process of asking questions, exploring, and discovering, in order to better understand the world around us.  Therefore, no prior 'physics' background is necessary!  The course is open to anyone and everyone, and will be approximately 2 hours in length.  Pizza will be provided.

Check back periodically to learn about other educational events.
